Vol. 124 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Schools for County Cork.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state the present position with regard to the building of new national schools at (a) Curraghalla, Glanworth, County Cork; (b) Clondulane, Fermoy, County Cork, and (c) Araglin, Kilworth, County Cork.

A tender has been accepted by the Commissioners of Public Works for the erection of the proposed new Araglin national school and I hope that work will commence at an early date.

In the case of the proposed new Curraghalla National School a lease of the site to trustees has been executed. I understand from the Commissioners of Public Works that tenders for the erection of the new building have been received and that they are at present under consideration.

Some preliminary arrangements have still to be made before the Department are in a position to sanction a grant for the erection of the proposed new Clondulane National School. These arrangements are being proceeded with as expeditiously as possible.
