Vol. 124 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Galway Proposed New School.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state the present position regarding the proposed new school for Carraroe, County Galway; and whether provision is being made for an assembly hall.

Plans have been prepared for a new school building at an estimated cost of £24,062, to replace the present St. MacDara's Boys', Girls' and Infants' Schools at Carraroe.

Representations have been made to me for the provision, in addition to the normal classroom and cloakroom accommodation, of an assembly hall which would cost upwards of £4,000.

It has not yet been possible for me to complete such examination of the position as would enable me to decide whether this additional expenditure would be warranted.
