The engineering staff of my Department have completed their plans and are satisfied that the remedying of the position by the erection of a barrage is a practical proposition. It will be an essential condition of the scheme that the Cork County Council and local beneficiaries will contribute towards the cost. Proposals will be submitted to these parties at an early date and the work will be put in hands as soon as agreement has been reached.
Will the local authorities be notified at the earliest possible date?
