Vol. 124 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fertiliser Imports.

Major de Valera

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the total quantity and value of (a) sulphate of ammonia; (b) nitrate of soda; and (c) other nitrogenous manures imported into this country during the year ended the 31st December, 1950, and during the period 31st December, 1951, to 1st March, 1951, in each case.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement containing the desired information. As figures are not yet available for the period 31st December, 1950, to 1st March, 1951, I propose to substitute the latest available figures covering imports in the month of January, 1951.

The following is the statement:—
