Vol. 124 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork House Rents.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether, further to his reply to Question No. 77 on 1st March, 1951, he is not aware that the rents of the houses at Parkowen, Cork, have been fixed for the past two months at 21/- per week for the larger houses and 15/- for the smaller houses, and that these houses are occupied for the same period, and in view of this, if he will now state the amount per house it is proposed to pay from the Transition Development Fund in respect of the houses in the Parkowen housing scheme.

I am not aware that rents of 15/- and 21/- per week have been fixed for the houses at Parkowen nor have I been requested to sanction such rents for this scheme. The amount of the Transition Development Fund grant to be allocated to the Parkowen scheme will be determined as soon as rent proposals are submitted by the corporation.
