asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state the date of commencement of work on the sewerage scheme and water works at Ferbane, County Offaly, and if plans for the scheme are completed and, if not, why not.

Revised plans of the sewerage scheme for Ferbane have been received within the past week and are being examined. It is not possible at this stage to state when work on the scheme may commence.
I understand from the local authority that work on the Ferbane waterworks has recently been completed and that it is hoped to have the scheme in operation within the next few weeks.
asked the Minister for Local Government whether the sewerage scheme at Clara, Offaly, is satisfactory and if he has had any complaints; and, if so, whether they have been investigated and with what results.
As the Deputy is aware, following a complaint received from him in September, 1949, the local authority reported that there was no danger from the health point of view arising from the construction of the main sewer in Clara or its location. I have received no other complaint regarding the operation of this scheme.
Are the Minister and the officers of his Department quite satisfied that this scheme has been completed in a most satisfactory manner and that there are no complaints, either from the local authority or the people of Clara, in that connection?
I have had no complaint since September, 1949.
