I have received applications from the two local authorities concerned for approval to the raising of loans to finance operations under Section 7 of the Housing (Amendment) Act, 1950. The general question of borrowing for the purpose of approved schemes of this nature is at present under examination. It is hoped to communicate a decision to all local authorities concerned at an early date.
