The creameries to which the Deputy refers are owned by co-operative societies and the trading functions of each are under the control of a manager responsible solely to the committee of management of the society. I have no supervisory authority, as such, over these creameries but my functions in relation to the administration of certain Acts and Orders connected with the creamery industry generally, require me to take such steps as may be necessary to ensure that the societies comply with the legal requirements regarding the manufacture and marketing of dairy produce.
