asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of the recent National Loan Conversion offer in respect of each loan then outstanding at the date of such offer (1) the amount converted; (2) the amount redeemed and paid; and (3) the amount in respect of which no instructions have been received, differentiating in each case between (a) holdings under the control of any Minister of State; (b) holdings under the control of any board or company of which the members or directors are appointed by any Minister of State or of which any Minister of State holds any capital or other shares, and (c) other holdings.

The Deputy will, no doubt, note from the statement that, in regard to Part II of his question, the only board of which members are appointed by a Minister of State which redeemed its holdings was the Hospitals Trust, which redeemed £25,500 of 4½ per cent. Third National Loan, 1950-70, and £47,000 of 4½ per cent. Conversion Loan, 1950-70.
Furthermore, all holdings under the control of Ministers of State were converted, none being redeemed.
