asked the Taoiseach if he will state the volume of (a) gross, and (b) net agricultural output excluding turf calculated according to the methods adopted in Table XI, Irish Statistical Survey, for each of the years therein included.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Output.
I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the desired information.
Following is the statement:—

asked the Taoiseach if he will state the appropriate figures for (a) farm materials purchased by farmers, and (b) net agricultural output for each of the years quoted in Table XI Irish Statistical Survey 1949-50, calculated according to the methods adopted in the table but omitting in each case any allowance for fertilisers.
I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving the desired information.
Following is the statement:—
Statement showing the values at fixed (1938-39) prices and the volume index numbers of (a) feeding stuffs and seeds purchased by farmers and, (b) gross agricultural output, including turf, less feeding stuffs and seeds purchased for each of the years quoted in Table XI of the Irish Statistical Survey, 1949-50, calculated according to the methods adopted in that table but omitting in each case any allowance for fertilisers.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state what would have been the figure for net agricultural output for each of the years 1948, 1949 and 1950 calculated according to the manner used in Table XI of the Irish Statistical Survey if the figure for farm materials purchased by farmers had been 36.5 instead of 70.6, 86.8 and 97.5 respectively.
To base 1938-39 =100 the index number of the volume of net agricultural output including turf for each of the years 1948, 1949 and 1950 calculated according to the manner used in Table XI of the Irish Statistical Survey, 1949-50, would have been 103.9, 112.0 and 107.6 respectively if the volume index of farm materials purchased by farmers had been 36.5 in each of those years.
Would it be possible for the Minister for Finance to digest that? He said in July that it was not true.
