Vol. 127 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Lands.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the Dublin County Council wish to acquire portion of the lands known as Chantilly Stud Farm, Shankill, for housing purposes, and that his Department in a letter to the county council, dated 9/11/50, favoured the acquisition of the proposed lands, but that the Office of Public Works, in a letter 15/8/51, stated that the commissioners were unable to facilitate the council in the matter, and if, in view of the urgent need for additional houses in the Shankill area, he will take steps to have the said lands made available to the county council.

I am aware of the position as outlined by the Deputy and I propose to have the difficulty further explored with the Minister for Finance.
