Vol. 127 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Housing Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state if plans, specifications and layout plans have been approved by him for Ballyhooly, Rathcormack, Clondulane, Araglen and Shanballymore non-municipal housing schemes.

Layouts, house plans and specifications have been approved for schemes at Rathcormack and Clondulane and layout and house plans for that at Ballyhooly. In the case of the scheme at Araglen the submission of a report in regard to water and sewerage services is awaited before the layout plan can be dealt with. Plans for the proposed scheme at Shanballymore have not yet been submitted to the Department.

I think that tenders have been accepted in respect of the schemes at Rathcormack and Clondulane. What is holding them up is the fact that the Department maintain that sewerage and water services would not be in at the same time as the houses would be completed.

We are awaiting a report on that matter.

I want to assure the Minister that both of these schemes will take one and a half years and there is no doubt that water and sewerage services will be there by that time.
