asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether the Kildare County Council has submitted a list of works which it is felt could be undertaken before the 31st March, 1952, and if he will further state the total estimated cost of such works and whether he proposes to sanction such schemes and to make the necessary funds available for such works.

The answer to the first part of the question is "Yes". The total estimated cost of the 125 works listed is £50,960, and of these 119 works have been approved at a total estimated cost of £48,857. A grant allocation of £44,000 has been made available to the county council for the execution of approved works in the current financial year.
