Vol. 127 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition and Division of Land.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state (a) the total acreage of land proposed to be acquired or already acquired on the Trench estate, Ballybrittas, County Laoighis, and (b) the acreage of land that will be available for (i) the relief of local congestion, (ii) turbary, and (iii) afforestation; and, further, whether the division scheme will be put into operation before 31st March, 1952.

The Land Commission have proceedings for the acquisition of 490 acres on the Trench estate. It is unlikely that the lands will be available for allotment before 31st March next. The information sought in part (b) of the question cannot be ascertained until the acquisition proceedings have been completed and a scheme of allotment prepared.

asked the Minister for Lands if a scheme has yet been prepared for Estate No. S/9852.

This question relates to an estate of Flanagan and Others, County Meath. An objection to acquisition was allowed in this case so the preparation of a scheme of allotment does not arise.
