Vol. 127 No. 7

Questions to Ministers.

I should like to ask the Taoiseach what type of information we are entitled to get at question time from the Minister for Local Government. There has been evidence to-day——

That is a different question.

Interruptions.

The question does not arise.

May I respectfully suggest, for the guidance of the House in future, that there has been evidence to-day of a reluctance on the part of the Minister for Local Government to give information to Deputies who put down certain questions? I am not a member of a local authority and I get complaints from my constituents in regard to which I have to seek information in this House.

The Deputy had an opportunity of asking questions at the proper time.

I asked the Minister for Local Government for certain information but he refused to give an answer. I think it would be far better if the Ceann Comhairle decided——

I want to submit that there is nothing before the House and the Deputy is making a speech.

Since when has the Minister for External Affairs become the general Pooh Bah of the Fianna Fáil Party?

Lap dog. Could we not get a statement from the Taoiseach in regard to this matter, because the Minister for Local Government refuses to answer questions?

Order of business.
