I have accepted the suggestion that the Defence Bill, 1951, should be referred to a special Committee of the House and accordingly I move:—
That the Defence Bill, 1951, be referred to a special Committee consisting of 17 members to be nominated by the Committee of Selection;
That the quorum of the Committee be six;
That the first meeting of the Committee be on Wednesday, 20th February, at 12.30 p.m.
If the motion is accepted I would find it helpful if Deputies could conveniently put in any amendments they may wish to propose not later than Wednesday, 13th February.
