Vol. 129 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New Ross Dispensary.

asked the Minister for Health if he will indicate what steps are being taken to provide a suitable dispensary at New Ross.

The Deputy will recall that on the 18th July last I informed him that a proposal had been received from the local authority to purchase a house in the town for use as a dispensary. Approval was accorded to this proposal on the 26th July provided the purchase price was reasonable and if the local authority was satisfied that a more suitable premises could not be acquired in the town. It is understood that the local authority, having considered the matter, decided in favour of building a new dispensary; in the meantime the possibility of renting the premises in question for use as a temporary dispensary is being explored. These proposals have not yet been formally submitted to me but I understand that they will be submitted shortly.
