Business will be taken in the following order, as set out in the Order Paper: Nos. 3, 12, 8 (Supplementary Estimate No. 14), 6, 7, 11, 13, 4, 9 and 8 (Supplementary Estimate No. 27).
Order of Business.
It was intimated to me only this morning that for the rest of the Session there will be no Private Members' Business. Would the Tánaiste allow a few minutes to the Minister for Agriculture to express his opposition to this Private Members' Bill and to dispose of that matter to-day? I am sure it will take only a few minutes.
He has made it already.
It will be only a matter of five or ten minutes. If it is convenient to take it this evening I shall let the Deputy know; and, if not, later on.
The tea interval.
When is it proposed to circulate the Social Welfare Bill which we have been promised for such a long time?
I understand that it is hoped to circulate it on Tuesday next.
Could the Tánaiste say whether we may hope to see a Bill relating to restrictive trade practices this Session?
I should not like to say that. Drafting difficulties are, I understand, occupying the attention of the Attorney-General's Office, and he has been unable to indicate when he hopes to have it ready.
May I look to the Tánaiste for the protection of the Minister for Industry and Commerce on such restrictive practices as I may appeal to him to restrict, pending the appearance of the Bill?
The Minister for Industry and Commerce will act in accordance with the law.
I have one very knotty one for him at the present time.
