Vol. 130 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Roscommon Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acceding to requests made by tenants of small holdings for letting of conacre for tillage on the O'Dowd estate at Cams, Cloverhill, County Roscommon; and, if so, with what result.

As this estate is not in the possession of the Land Commission they are not in a position to let the lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission has yet selected tenants for the unallotted holdings on the De Freyne estate at Frenchpark, County Roscommon; and, if not, whether arrangements will be made to have portions of these lands let in conacre for tillage.

It is expected that these lands will be allotted in the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether a Land Commission inspector has inspected the non-residential farm at Mullen, Frenchpark, Murphy estate, the property of a person who resides in Northern Ireland; and, if not, if they will have an inspection carried out immediately with a view to having the farm acquired by the Land Commission so that the very acute congestion problem which exists in the area may be solved.

Proceedings are well advanced for the acquisition of the lands in question.
