asked the Taoiseach if he will state in respect of the same four periods specified in the Estimates for 1947-48 to 1950-51 given by the Irish Government to the C.E.E.C. in 1947: (1) the area and production of (a) wheat, (b) barley, (c) oats, and (d) total cereals, and (2) the tonnage imported of (a) wheat and flour, (b) barley, (c) maize, and (d) total cereals.

(1) The area show a represents the acreage on 1st June of the first year in each period and the production shown is the estimated total produce of this acreage, i.e. the estimated yield multiplied by the acreage. In the estimates submitted to C.E.E.C. in 1947 the term "production" was confined to dried wheat milled by licensed millers and permit millers, and wheat used for seeding.
(2) Total cereals include wheat, barley, oats and rye.
(2) Total quantities of unmanufactured cereals* and wheaten flour imported in each year ended 30th June, 1948-1951.
