Tenders for the development of the Morrow site, Stillorgan, were invited yesterday (31st March, 1952) by the Dublin County Council and I understand that work on the site is expected to commence in May next.
asked the Minister for Local Government if the Dublin County Council propose to proceed with the erection of a scheme of houses at Stepaside; and, if so, when.
The Dublin County Council have been authorised to acquire compulsorily a site at Stepaside to accommodate 72 cottages. I understand, however, that the council have not yet taken possession owing to difficulties with which the owner is confronted in regard to the discharge of equities.
Is the Minister in a position to say whether these difficulties have been resolved or can he express any view as to whether it will be possible to resolve them in order to acquire the site?
I can say that they have not been resolved, but I know that everything possible is being done to resolve them.
