Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Use of National College of Art for Dance.
The Gallery of the National College of Art was used for the purpose of holding a dance on St. Patrick's Night, 1952, by the Students' Union of the college under conditions which have been in force for many years, as follows:—
(1) That the director accepts full responsibility for the discipline and decorum of those who are present at the dances;
(2) that the dances be not public and, therefore, not advertised;
(3) that the dances will be confined to the students and to a limited number of their guests, a list of whom is to be kept by the honorary secretary of the union;
(4) that adequate precautions are taken against the risk of fire;
(5) that any damage or disturbance to the premises will be remedied and that the premises will be left in a proper condition at the conclusion of the dances;
(6) that whatever charges may arise, normally covering heating, lighting and overhead expenses, will be recouped to the Office of Public Works by the Students' Union.
