asked the Taoiseach if he will state what quantity of fertilisers was purchased by farmers in Ireland in each year since 1927, or if accurate statistics are not available, what estimated figures are accepted by the Department of Agriculture.

I propose, with the permission of An Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement containing the desired information so far as it is available.

Following is the statement:—
