Vol. 132 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballybofey Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that there appears to be undue delay in the completion of the county council housing scheme at Ballybofey; and if, in view of the urgent need which exists for these houses, he will take the necessary action to remedy the position.

I understand that progress with this scheme was retarded at certain stages of the work by bad weather and by shortages of materials but that the scheme is now nearing completion. A recent decision of the council to alter the method of sewerage disposal for the scheme has delayed this portion of the work. Some additional information on the proposed departure from the original plans has been requested from the council and a decision on their proposal will be given as quickly as possible when the information comes to hand.
