Vol. 133 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Road Grant.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state if his Department received a proposal from the Kerry County Council for a grant to complete the steam-rolling of the road from the eastern side of Kerry head, Ballyheigue; and, if so, if he will now state if the proposal has been considered, and if a grant will be allocated for this much needed work.

I received the application referred to. The county council was informed in reply that the Road Fund grants available for 1952-53 were those notified to the council on 18th February last. The selection of the works to be carried out with the aid of these grants is primarily a matter for the county council and the work referred to by the Deputy has not been included in the council's current scheme of road works.
