Vol. 133 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Forestry Workers' Boots.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will ensure that, prior to the coming autumn, all forestry workers on the Hill estate, County Donegal, will receive an issue of rubber boots and that replacements will be issued when necessary.

In the circumstances at present obtaining in this area, rubber boots will be provided for the men employed there. It is normal practice to replace worn-out boots.

Is the Minister aware that employees were taken on in the month of February last and have received no issue of Wellington or rubber boots?

If the work is continuing at a time when the boots are unnecessary, I do not see that the issue arises. It is only when bad weather comes along that this question comes up.
