The report of the committee of inquiry into the duties, organisation and strength of the Garda Síochána was received in August, 1951. No decision has been taken in connection with the publication of the report which has not yet been submitted to the Government for consideration as the observations of all Departments of State, whose work may be affected by the findings of the committee, are not yet available.
