Vol. 134 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Authorities (Works) Act.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state what amount was allotted to the Kildare County Council for the current year under the Local Authorities (Works) Act, what amount has already been paid, and when any balance outstanding will be paid to the county council.

The amount of grant allocated to Kildare County Council for the execution of works under the Local Authorities (Works) Act in the current financial year is £23,000. A sum of £2,900 has already been paid to the county council on foot of this grant, and further payments will be made from time to time in recoupment of expenditure incurred on approved works.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware of the delay in sanctioning a grant under the Local Authorities (Works) Act for the erection of three bridges in the Emy Valley, Masterguihy, County Kerry, and if he is now in a position to make a decision in the matter.

Approval has been issued to a programme of works which includes the schemes referred to by the Deputy.
