asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of men employed by Bord na Móna in County Kildare on the last convenient date and on comparable dates in 1950 and 1951.
I am informed by Bord na Móna that the number of men employed by them in County Kildare on the 20th November in each of the years 1950, 1951 and 1952 were 1,053, 1,724 and 1,232, respectively.
Can the Minister indicate why there is a decrease of 500 this year?
The Deputy may recollect that in reply to a question last week I mentioned that the decrease this year was effected by the fact that certain capital works which had been in progress have been completed.
