Vol. 136 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Fishing Rights.

asked the Minister for Lands, with reference to the reply to a question on 23rd October, 1952, whether he was aware that the landlord's representative on the Eagar estate, Glencar, County Kerry, has leased the fishing rights on the estateto the detriment of local tenants; and whether the Land Commission is now in a position to acquire these rights in the interests of the tenants and in the general interest of the district.

Notice of intention to make an Order about the fishing rights appurtenant to the tenanted land on this estate was published last October. Two objections have been lodged against the notice and, unless otherwise disposed of, will be listed for hearing. Meanwhile, it is not possible to forecast what the outcome will be.
