This proposal was submitted in May, 1952, and was examined in conjunction with an earlier proposal to raise a loan for the provision of lofts in cottages. The examination of both proposals has also been related to the condition of many of the older cottages and to the obligation on the local authority to put cottages in proper repair and sanitary condition before vesting. My views on the results of these investigations will be communicated to the county council in the near future.
