Vol. 136 No. 8

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 2, 7, 9 (Vote 56), and then No. 15. Following No. 15, it is proposed to go back again to No. 9 to take Vote 58, followed by Votes 17, 34, 47 and 51. Private Deputies' business will be taken at 10 p.m.

If the business, as ordered, is finished before 10 o'clock, does Private Deputies' business come on?

Yes, until 11.30.

Would the Tánaiste say what will be taken in Private Deputies' time? There is a Bill under discussion but if that should conclude, what will be taken afterwards?

I think Deputy Cowan's Bill, No. 22 on the Order Paper, is next in order.

Suppose this finishes before 10 o'clock, as seems likely——

We still go on for an hour and a half.

Then we adjourn.

Suppose we finish at 6 o'clock, will the House adjourn at 7.30 p.m.?

Yes. We may as well dream our dreams.

So long as we do not see visions!

Or have nightmares!

Will the House be given an opportunity to discuss the announcement made by the Minister for Finance to-day in relation to the Civil Service award?

The proposal is made by the main opposition Party.

Let us be quite frank. The Leader of our Party is in bed and the Chief Whip is ill while the Leader of the Opposition is contemplating going to bed with influenza. Then there is the Ard Fheis and our staff is not working with precision. We reserve our right, having considered the Minister's statement, to communicate through the usual channels.

That is what the Tánaiste said.

Do you want any help over there?

Are you thinking of coming over?

We can deal with you now with one hand tied behind our backs. You are crumbling away.

What about taking over?
