Vol. 136 No. 9

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Items Nos. 9—Vote 51—4, 8, 10, 11 and 12.

Can the Tánaiste say whether it is intended to introduce the Budget in the first week in May as heretofore, or, as was done last year, in the first week in April?

It will not be in the first week in April, which is Holy Week; but apart from that, no decision has been taken.

The 1st April would be a suitable date for this year's Budget.

Mr. O'Higgins

When will the Second Reading of the Health Bill be taken?

Next Wednesday.

Is it intended to take the National Stud Bill this week?

It was intended to take it to-day, but the Minister is a victim of the prevailing 'flu.

Mr. O'Higgins

Is Tulyar all right?

Is it the intention to order the National Stud Bill?

It will be taken as soon as the Minister is available.

It will not be taken to-morrow?

I do not think so.

The House will sit to-morrow?

Has the Tánaiste any idea of what the business is likely to be?

Present indications are that the business will consist of the Gaeltacht (Housing) Bill, subject to the availability of the Parliamentary Secretary, who is also a victim of the 'flu, the Defence Bill and Private Members' business.

I hope the Tánaiste notes that our comment is not that ofthe Minister for Finance: "Do `yez' want any help over there?"

It is quite obvious we do not.

You cannot put the business through and cannot produce the Bills and we do not blame you.

The hours of sitting this week were regarded as a kind of experiment. Has the Tánaiste anything to say about the proposed hours for next week?

I gather that the Whips will be meeting to propose a continuation of this week's arrangement.

Could the Minister for Finance tell us if it is correct that Tulyar has the 'flu?

Do you want an S.P. bet on?
