asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware that many applications for loans under the Small Dwellings Acquisition Acts have been referred by Dublin County Council to his Department for interpretation and for decision regarding the rate of interest to be charged in respect of houses which the applicants were committed to purchase before 6th October, 1952; and, if so, if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not so aware. With the exception of two cases in which the Department is in communication with the county council, all the applications referred to the Department by the county council have been dealt with.
