The gross capital debt of the several local authorities in County Galway, excluding harbour authorities, vocational education committees and the county committee of agriculture, at the 31st March, 1925, was approximately £1,916,000. The amount paid in interest (including interest on temporary overdrafts) by such local authorities in the year ended 31st March, 1952, was approximately £59,000.
