Vol. 138 No. 14

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order : Nos. 5 and 6 (in 6, Votes 56, 57), and No. 8. It is not proposed to interrupt public business at the time fixed for the taking of Private Deputies' business.

Will the Minister for Finance state when it is expected that the promised Bill to increase disability and special allowances will be introduced?

As soon as possible.

We seem to be hearing a lot of that.

I am sorry I did not catch the remark.

We heard yesterday in regard to a lot of other Bills that the delay was with the draftsman.

It does not take us three years to produce a Social Welfare Bill.

The amendment we got this morning that £1 should be changed to "the appropriate amount". Is that what took so long?

The Minister has some correction to make?
