Vol. 139 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Achill Island Land-holders.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that no uneconomic land-holder has recently been migrated from Achill Island or the adjacent district of Carraun; and, if so, if he will state the reason and if he will consider cases for migration from those districts for the coming year.

The Land Commission have no proposals for the migration of tenants from Achill Island. The estates on the island were rearranged some 30 years ago and most of them have since been vested. As regards the Dickens estate in Carraun, the holdings were inspected last year and the question of migrating some tenants is under consideration.
