NOTE: The particulars of employment are based on monthly returns furnished by the local authorities concerned showing the numbers employed on a specified date. In respect of the two county councils the average has been obtained by dividing the sum of the monthly figures by 12. In respect of the urban authorities the employment afforded on these schemes is of limited duration; for this reason the average employment figures given in the reply are related merely to the duration of the schemes in each case.
