I am informed that 42.5 per cent. of the applications for loans received by the Agricultural Credit Corporation in the two years ended 30th April, 1953, were refused. This figure does not cover applications under certain schemes initiated by the Departmentof Agriculture, viz., the machine loan, milking machine loan and land rehabilitation project loan schemes, as applications under these scheme are not decided on by the board of the Agricultural Credit Corporation.
