Ceisteanna-Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Acquisition and Division.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will indicate how much land in Longford the Land Commission(a) hold for division; (b) are in process of acquiring, and (c) hold ready for allocation.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I will take together Questions Nos. 15 and 16.

The Land Commission have on hands in County Longford 2,113 acres, of which 2,063 acres are bog. They are in process of acquiring 2,653 acres, of which 176 acres are bog. Schemes have been prepared for the allotment of 826 acres of the bog on hands and are in course of preparation for 41 acres of other lands on hands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the present position with regard to the acquisition of the lands of Henry L. Owen and Arthur V. Gentleman, Ballyhorgan, Lixnaw, County Kerry.

Inquiries are being made regarding the lands of Mr. Owen and the Land Commission are negotiating with Mr. Gentleman regarding his lands. Decisions have not yet been reached in these cases.
