asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether any rules are prescribed for the selection of tenants of houses provided by local authorities and whether, in the event of unfair or unjust selection, any relief is available to persons not selected.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Authorities' Houses.
Mr. O'Higgins
The letting of dwellings provided by housing authorities is governed by the Housing (Management and Letting) Regulations, 1950 and 1953. In regard to the second part of the question, the regulations do not make any provision for appeal by persons who might feel aggrieved by decisions of the housing authority under the regulations, but where complaints are made to me they are investigated in all cases in which this course appears to be warranted.
