Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export of Horses.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state (1) the number of horses exported from the Republic in the three years from 1951 to 1953, inclusive, (2) the number exported for slaughter and (3) to what countries they were exported.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate in the Official Report a statement giving particularsof the number of horses exported and the countries to which they were exported in the years 1951 and 1952, and in January-September, 1953, the latest period for which the information is at present available. It is not possible to state the purpose for which horses are exported.

Following is the statement:—

NUMBER of Horses exported, by countries of destination, during each year 1951 and 1952 and January September, 1953.
