Vol. 144 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fish Imports.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state for the period 1st January, 1953, to 31st December, 1953, inclusive, the total weight and value imported of (1) all fish (demersal); (2) all smoked fish (other than kippers); (3) kippered herring, and (4) all fish (tinned) in sealed containers.

Statistics of imports are compiled according to the Official Import List which does not provide the details asked for by the Deputy. However, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate in the Official Report particulars of imports of fish according to the Official Import List, which are judged relevant to the Deputy's question.

Following is the statement:—
