Committee on Finance. - Industrial Reseach and Standards (Amendment) Bill, 1953—Money Resolution.

Mr. Lemass

I move:—

That for the purposes of any Act of the present session to amend the Industrial Research and Standards Act, 1946, it is expedient to authorise the payment to the Institute for Industrial Research and Standards out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas, of such sums, not exceeding in the aggregate £35,000 in any one financial year, as the institute may from time to time require.

I think the Minister has been a bit niggardly.

Mr. Lemass

There must be some limit. I hope some day, with the co-operation of the Deputy, to push it up further.

Captain Cowan

The pushing of it will give the Dáil a chance of reconsidering it.
