Vol. 144 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will now state when it is proposed to rearrange and improve the still unsettled townlands on the Larpent estate, County Mayo.

The preparation of a rearrangement scheme for holdings in the townlands of Boleyboy and Crimlin on the estate of Lady Larpent, Rec. No. C.D.B. 3390, will be put in hands as soon as an experienced inspector is available for the work. Previous attempts at rearrangement proved unsuccessful but additional untenanted lands have now been made available, and it is hoped that the necessary measure of co-operation will be forthcoming from the tenants to enable a satisfactory scheme to be prepared this time.

Would the Minister say when an inspector will be available to do this job?

I cannot say at the moment. The matter is under constant examination. Possession of one of the resumed holdings upon which the rearrangement scheme will depend was only taken on the 25th February. We will do our utmost to have the matter expedited.
