Vol. 146 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - E.S.B. and Limerick Anglers' Association

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will use his good offices with the E.S.B. to bring about an amicable and early settlement of the dispute between that body and the Limerick Anglers' Association.

The duties of managing, conducting and preserving the Shannon fisheries are vested in the E.S.B. under statute. While I have no function in the matter, I have been informed by the board that they are unaware of any dispute at present with the Limerick Anglers' Association and that, since the opening of the present fishing season, local anglers have availed of the trout and salmon permits issued in accordance with the board's revised conditions governing angling.
