Vol. 147 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Staffing of Limerick Hospital.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state (a) when it is proposed to appoint the staff of the new regional hospital in Limerick, and (b) the method by which such appointments will be made.

Steps have already been taken to appoint the necessary staffs in the new regional hospital, Limerick, and, in fact, some members of the staff have been appointed.

The selection of candidates to fill the senior medical permanent posts, such as physician-superintendent, physician, surgeons, etc., is a matter for the local appointments commissioners. The appointments of nursing and subordinate staffs is a matter for the local authority.
