Vol. 147 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo Flooding.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that the residence of John Lydon, Cappanacreha, Tourmakeady, County Mayo, has been subjected to continuous flooding from the adjoining river, that the owner and his family have recently been compelled to evacuate the premises and that, although the Land Commission undertook to relieve the flooding by building embankments, nothing has yet been done in the matter, and, if so, if he will request the Land Commission to have this urgent work carried out forthwith.

I am informed by the Land Commission that they did not undertake to erect river embankments as suggested in the Deputy's question but I have asked the commissioners to have this case examined to see what can be done.
