asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will use the powers conferred on him by the Control of Prices Act, 1937, to enable members of the Garda Síochána to act as inspectors for the purposes of the Retail Prices (Display) (No. 1) Order, 1938; further, if he will have the Order amended so as to ensure that all displays of retail prices shall be clearly visible from the outside of retailers' premises.

I will have the suggestion made in the first part of the Deputy's question examined in connection with the steps at present under consideration to ensure more effective enforcement of the Retail Prices (Display) (No. 1) Order, 1938.
A requirement on the lines suggested in the second part of the question is already included in the Third Schedule to the Order, so that the question of amending the Order does not arise.
