Vol. 147 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Meath: Land Division.

asked the Minister for Lands whether he is aware that the G.A.A. applied to the Land Commission for a playing field on the Langford estate, Summerhill, County Meath, and, if so, whether, in view of the fact that there is a suitable field on the estate adjoining the village, and that there is great need for such a facility, he will request the Land Commission to give the application favourable consideration.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission propose to allot the remaining portion of the Langford estate, Summerhill, Enfield, County Meath, among uneconomic holders and cottage tenants, and, if so, whether final plans have yet been drawn up, and when this land is likely to be allotted.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to deal with Questions Nos. 25 and 26 together.

The preparation of final plans for the allotment of the balance of this estate must await the outcome of negotiations for the purchase of other lands in the same locality.

It is therefore not possible to say when the allotment will take place or who will benefit thereby, but the applications of local uneconomic holders and cottage tenants will be fully considered.

The application of the G.A.A. will be fully considered at the same time.
